JAZZ

Born into a family of music lovers and players, Stefanie Koscher started experimenting with various instruments in early childhood. After receiving classical piano education from the age of 6 far into her adolecent years, (Musikschule Feldkirchen Kärnten with Georg Paludnik) as well as being a student of competetive Ballett and Dance School Silvia Prokop Klagenfurt, she moved on to study classical singing (with Robert Kreutzer Kärntner Landesmusikschulwerk) during her teenage years to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a musical theater performer. After deciding to take a less commercial and more diverse career path in theater, music and the arts, she continued on to study Jazz vocals with Heidi Krenn as well as participating in various voice workshops and vocal coachings over the years. Whilst living in NYC and Berlin she performed with various bandproject in the indie, downtown-avantgarde and artrock scene, where she also started to compose her own original songs. She has been active and involved in the Viennese Jazz environment, participating in jam sessions and singing concerts with revolving Jazz players from in and out of town with a repertoire of standard swing, bossa nova and showtunes. At the core, Stefanie Koscher is a multidisciplinary artist and performer who has arrived at being a jazz vocalist.

STEFFKO is a multidimensional audio visual solo music project, that draws its main influences from artrock, avant-pop, punk and rap.

ONE DAY - SINGLE RELEASE 2023/25/12

“One Day is a naive protest song that I wrote about 10 years ago inspired by an Ingeborg Bachmann text, which is sampled in the intro of the song. I home-recorded the song in 2020 during the pandemic with the help of wonderful Gordon Raphael and Frida Claeson Johansson for mixing and mastering. I’m releasing this song in 2023 because it feels right for obvious reasons, but I coud’ve done earlier too I guess. My voice is not the same anymore in 2023, but on the other hand this year has also been the 50th anniversary of Ingeborg Bachmann’s death, so it feels right to finally get this out there.”
